INCOLOY 800H was the grade not designed for centrifugal casting technique.  However, LAWAI overcame the difficulty to melt the INCOLOY 800H which contains the Ti and Al not easy to melt in the air and designed the special covering agent to avoid the oxidation. 

We produce INCOLOY 800H that is the forged grade by centrifugal casting technique and this is also one of the examples that proving centrifugal casting could produce forged material. 

Because centrifugal casting is the method to manufacturer custom hollow, seamless and cylindrical tubes, therefore the non-standard INCOLOY 800H valve balls are quite suitable for being produced by this technique.

Firstly, LAWAI team will produce INCOLOY 800H tubes by centrifugal casting. Then, we’ll do the cutting process for these long INCOLOY 800H tubes.  And we’ll shape the valve balls by cold pressing and this is the very critical step of the whole manufacturing process. 

After that, the valve balls will be delivered to heat-treatment plant.  When returning  from the heat-treatment, we will do the finish machining on those valve balls and polishing the external surfaces. 

Finally, the premium one-piece constructed  INCOLOY 800H valve balls will be born and the mechanical properties of the one-piece constructed balls are much better than two metal spheric halves joined together!
